The glassine protection ( which remains with book) did a very good job protecting this book. The only harm that was done to the unclipped DJ was a few small tears which are now protected by Brodart. The book has light scuffs to edges. Previous owner's name on FFEP. Very light discoloring inside both covers. Pages are as new. It's hard to believe that a scolarly study was devoted to spelling difficulties but that was years before spellcheck.

Blue cloth boards with wrap around illustration in black and orange. Worn at edges, corners and head/heel of spine. Illustrated end papers. Color illustrations throughout by Beatrice Edgerly. Light pencil underlinings and numbers in child's printing at page 62. A few tears and stains but in wonderful shape for children's book of this age.
